PRE-PRODUCTION (STAGE 4)

 I had never made a documentary before, so I wasn't sure where to begin. Initially, I made a script document and attempted to devise a format, but I soon realized that this would be pointless since the documentary would be in 'performative mode.' 

Interviewee profile : 

1. Single mom 

2. Has a Family but they're not in the country 

3. Has a Family that is in the family

4. Has an actual profession as a teacher

I firstly created a set of profile's that i wanted to interview. I made sure to decide that all of them had their own unique background's to really get a grasp and find out more about their 

In the midst of my planning process, I noticed a lack of a distinct focus in my documentary. In response, I decided to narrow down my scope to Assistant Teachers specifically working in primary education. While brainstorming for a unique concept, I aimed to shed light on a less-explored issue. It became apparent that numerous Filipinos working abroad encounter difficulties in securing higher positions or jobs aligned with their education due to limited access to advanced educational opportunities.

Therefore, the documentary delves into the importance of the K-12 education system for Filipinos and its repercussions on education professionals. The focus is specifically on the challenges faced by teachers who completed their education at the grade 10 level, particularly in their pursuit of teaching positions in Qatar. To offer a well-rounded understanding, the post includes interviews with three teachers, each sharing their individual experiences in navigating this educational challenge. Join us as we explore the impact and complexities of this significant issue in the education sector.

I then ran into a problem, The initial plan was to ask for four teachers but most of them were not available. So I had to narrow down the description to interviewing, two assistant teachers who have a bachelor degree of teaching and one who had to take extra years to study in order for her to be able to achieve a teaching position abroad.
